Dell MD1000 Controller Card Firmware
This enclosure firmware provides management functions for the PowerVault MD1000. These functions include SCSI Enclosure Services (SES) reporting to the host initiator, control of all enclosure LED indicators, and monitoring of all the enclosure's environmental elements.
This release is intended for MD1000 storage enclosures attached to a PERC5/E RAID controller. Please use the MD3000/MD3000i firmware update utility, to update MD1000 attached to MD3000/MD3000i.1. WARNING: THE SERVER MUST BE REBOOTED AFTER UPDATING THE FIRMWARE ON MD1000 ENCLOSURES IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN ENCLOSURE MANAGEMENT. ACCESS TO THE ENCLOSURES WILL BE LOST IF THE SERVER IS NOT REBOOTED.2. WHEN PROMPTED FOR REBOOT AFTER UPDATE, SELECT “YES”If you are considering expanding your MD3000 or MD1000 environment, please consult the MD Support Matrix (http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/md3000/en/supmatrx/SupportMatrix.pdf) for validated configurations. If your future MD3000 or MD1000 configuration is unsupported, please contact Dell Technical Support for assistance.
This release is a fix the following errors:1. Corrects an error report that occurs intermittently when an MD1000 is being used in split mode connectivity to two PERC5E controllers. 2. It also fixes the time “Lost Timer Errata” report when an MD1000 is connected behind an MD3000/MD3000i.
