This package provides the Seagate ST500DM002/ST320DM002/ST250DM000 Firmware Update and is supported on Optiplex, XPS Desktop, Alienware Desktop, Inspiron Desktop, Precision and Vostro Desktop models that are running the following Windows Operating Systems: VISTA, Windows7 and Windows 8.
1) Please close other applications before updating. 2) While the firmware is updating, please don't turn off the computer. 3) If the firmware flash utility fails to update, please use the legacy mode instead of the BIOS default SATA configuration.
Fixes: - Not ApplicableEnhancement: - Enhanced Power Up In Standby (PUIS) feature. PUIS is SATA hard disk configuration which prevents the drive from automatic spin-up when power is applied. The spin-up occurs later by ATA command only, when the disc is needed, to conserve electric power. - Enhanced drive stability under extremely heavy workload.
