Enabling PIDE DMA mode. For Debian 4.0: This package describes how to install the pre-built VIA IDE driver module into the default kernel of Debian 4.0, for enabling P-IDE DMA with VIA CX700(M/M2), VT8327S and VX700(M/M2) chips. The kernel of Debian 4.0 cannot recognize these VIA chips so HDDs will only run in PIO mode. Note: If you aren't using the default kernel, refer to the document "Enable PIDE DMA mode with VIA SB chips". Please note also that kernel 2.6.21 does support the above mentioned VIA chips.
